All the tooling required to form, quench and fabricate production parts is made in house on one of our many CNC machining centres

Chapmans have complete control over the entire manufacturing process, allowing us to make changes at any stage, should the customers design change.

Design work is performed by our engineers in the technical team on the latest edition of Autodesk design and manufacturing software. If the customer has a sample but no CAD data then Chapmans can use their Nikon scanning arm to produce a CAD model from which tooling and samples can be manufactured. Whenever possible, Chapmans use 3D printed samples made in house to quickly test and verify a design.

My job is to take a new or existing product and if necessary reverse engineer it, so that it can be manufactured in our hot work cells, while improving the fit, form and function.

    Saving Time & Money

    When it comes to using Chapmans’ largest piece of equipment, the 350 tonne Beche Forge, our technical team use Q-Form simulation software to give an accurate analysis of the process before initialisation. This saves design and development time and cost, by allowing the correct mould to be ‘trialled’ offline allowing the production machines to work on the manufacture of parts. At Chapmans, we have a dedicated production cell for the development of new products where we can trial and develop most new parts without interruption to normal production activities.
