Kids will soon be out – dressed as goblins – trick-or-treating
Asda’s toffee-apple and pumpkin trade will be fleeting
Out in the fields grow pumpkins, all crops
Which we buy daily in packs from the shops
But where does it come from? How does it get there?
Hi-tech machines rock up, and in time they prepare
The ground for planting and sowing
For months of watering and growing
And then comes the time to peak a farmer’s interest in his field
Autumn time to harvest, time to relish his yield
